Red Oak is very popular and often the first choice of hardwood for kitchen cabinets. With its rich, warm red-gold hue, Red Oak blends beautifully with many different design styles and accepts stain very well. The sapwood of our Red Oak kitchen cabinet doors is nearly white and the heartwood is brown with a tinge of red or pink. Red Oak is very strong and durable with a distinctive grain pattern.
Our Red Oak four panel traditional style kitchen cabinet doors are manufactured using premium quality lumber. Each door features a raised panel and is precisely manufactured creating a look of beauty and elegance. Stiles refer to the vertical boards running up and down on the sides, and possibly center, of the cabinet door. Rails are the horizontal boards on the top, bottom and possibly center of the cabinet door. Stile and rail widths are 2-1/4". For doors over 42" in height, a center rail will be added. For doors wider than 24", a center stile will be added.
35 mm holes can be drilled for hinges. Hole will be placed on the back 1/8" from the long door edge to the outer edge of the hole and 3-1/2" from the top and bottom edges to the center of the holes. For kitchen cabinet doors 42" and under, one hole will be drilled at the top and one at the bottom. For kitchen cabinet doors over 42", a third hole will be drilled in the center. Right or left is from the perspective of facing the front of the door.
We apply three coats of a commerical grade conversion varnish to prefinish your kitchen cabinet door. If you order your door as prestained, a stain will be applied, then three coats of varnish. Stain choices can be found
