According to a Country Mouldings analysis of 2024 and 2025 sales data, five popular wood countertop species are Maple, Walnut, White Oak, Hickory and Red Oak. There aren't really any surprises in this list. Maple and Walnut are always popular in both butcher block and wide plank countertops. Hickory and Red Oak wood countertops have solid sales every year. Enthusiasm for White Oak continues to grow and it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon.
