How We Create a Masterpiece
Masterpieces are not created in factories and machines; they are carefully crafted by expert hands and keen eyes. A machine cannot guarantee the quality that a master artisan can. The process starts with the artisan choosing only the best quality wood planks from FAS and Select grade lumber. The plank countertop consists of full-length boards with varying widths, which can range from 3 to 6 inches. The craftsman carefully brings out the pastoral beauty of the wood with only his or her hands and a scraper. The random width strips are glued together. Then the process of hand scraping creates a distressed look in the wood, and adds dimension to the design. Lastly, the countertop is finished and shipped.

• Choose your wood
  There are seventeen different wood types to choose from: American Cherry, Ash, Beech, Brazilian Cherry, Hickory, Knotty Alder, Knotty Pine, Mahogany, Maple, Poplar, Quartersawn Red Oak, Quartersawn White Oak, Red Oak, Spanish Cedar, Walnut and White Oak
• Select your size
  The available thickness is 1 ¾ inches; the max width is 7 feet; and the max length is 15 feet.
• Create an edge
  The available edges are square, eased, roundover, beveled, cove, bead with step, small roman ogee and large roman ogee.
• Choose a finish
  You can choose between a conversion varnish and a mineral oil finish.
