Hard Maple is a very strong hardwood that is used for many purposes due to its resistance to abrasion and wear. Hard Maple has a pale, creamy white sapwood color and the heartwood is yellowish-white to various shades of tan/light brown. Hard Maple wood stair risers may contain some brown, but it will be minimal.

For prefinished risers, three coats of our clear conversion varnish will be applied.

For prestained risers, a stain is applied, then three coats of varnish. Choose any stain from the colors shown here.

Stair risers are constructed by gluing boards side by side. The number of boards can range from one to four.
