Our island top is beautiful! We ordered a custom size (87" x 40.5" x 2") in red oak for our island/bar. Country Mouldings was the only online place where I could get a custom size, unfinished piece, at a reasonable price. The piece is of great quality--we did a light sanding, applied one coat of Miniwax wood conditioner, one coat of Miniwax Dark Walnut stain and 3 coats of Waterlox wood sealer/finisher. (Must do all sides to prevent future warping!) Butcher block is heavy, ours was 320 pounds on the pallet--plan on 2-3 strong people to get it off the truck and into your home! People who have priced out butcher block couldn't believe we got such a great piece at the price Country Mouldings offers. Ours arrived exactly 2 weeks after ordering.
