Our prefinished Quartersawn Red Oak wood stair risers are similar to Red Oak in color, but have long radiated rays that create a spectacular rich "fleck" look, also known as flaked grain. Quartersawn Red Oak's admirable, flaked grain pattern is a beautiful choice for a prefinished wood stair riser. The sapwood color of Quartersawn Red Oak is white to light brown and the heartwood is combined of warm, reddish brown tones.

For prefinished risers, three coats of our clear conversion varnish will be applied.

For prestained risers, a stain is applied, then three coats of varnish. Choose any stain from the colors shown here.

Stair risers are constructed by gluing boards side by side. The number of boards can range from one to four.
