Custom Size Hickory Butcher Block Countertop

I got a 18" x 25" x 1.5" a hickory "America's heaviest and strongest hardwood" butcher block -- unfinished. No one had told me about oiling a butcher block. So I oiled in once a day for a week -- very interesting, that oil seeped in more and more. Very beautiful wood.The block was sized to sit ontop of the washer. My last cutting board was on a kitchen table, about 30" from the floor. My new block is 38" off the ground, no more bending down. My back thanks you.The block is *perfect*You can ask my childen about the butcher block in about 50 years.
