Custom Size Maple Butcher Block Countertop

We got an 8' maple butcherblock, 1 3/4 x 30 1/2, to match our existing kitchencounters with a breakfast counter addition. The product is very well made, heavy as can be and virtually indestructible. The new piece fits in perfectly with the old tops (needs a little bit of aging though, since the old ones are in for 10+ years). I just love the fact that it is possible to get almost any width and length at this quality for those prices.The only thing that made me slightly nervous was the shipping company since the countertop was on a truck for 2 weeks + before I heard anything from them but Peter Lazar of Country Mouldings was right on top of it after I contacted him and our shipment arrived undamaged a couple of days after, even though it was loaded, crooked on top of other boxes with a weight of about 260#'s what made me check for damages extra carefully.
