The sapwood of Poplar is creamy white and may have streaks throughout the grain. The heartwood varies from pale brown to green with purplish streaks. The green heartwood tends to darken with exposure to light. Poplar is straight grained with medium to fine texture. Poplar is very strong and stable.

Prefinished self rimming wood vents are a great way to enhance your hardwood floor, carpeting, tile or any floor covering.

The vents on this page are self rimming heat vents. They have a 1" wide lip all around that rests on top of your floor. The self rimming vent is 3/8" above the floor with the remaining 3/8" below the floor.

For prefinished wood vents, three coats of our clear conversion varnish will be applied.

For prestained wood vents, a stain is applied, then three coats of varnish. If you choose to have your wood stair tread prestained, we will email you after the order is placed to find out which color you have chosen. Choose from any Woodwright color shown here.

Prefinished self rimming vents are offered in standard and custom sizes. Standard sizes are less expensive.

A vent is a standard size if:

1)The width is 2-1/4" or any multiple of 2" from 4" to 30".
and
2)The length is a multiple of 2" from 4" to 96".
and
3)The total square inches (width x length) is 320" or less.

All vents are ordered using the opening size.
