Our Knotty Alder Wood Stair Risers may range in color from a light sapwood to a light brown heartwood with reddish or peach tones. Knotty Alder is similar in character to Pine, and has solid, open knots that vary in size, shape, and color. Knotty Alder often has small and large split knots and open knots that may go completely through the wood.

The Knotty Alder risers on this page are sold unfinished.

Stair risers are manufactured by gluing a few boards side by side. The number of boards can range from one to four, but is usually two or three.
